First Annual Touchdown Challenge A Success

This spring, many graduate business alumni grew a little closer to Notre Dame and had a lot of fun doing so.

The first annual Touchdown Challenge ran from Monday, April 20 until Friday, May 18. Approximately 150 alumni competed in the challenge, an online game where they could complete tasks and answer trivia questions for prizes. Each day, one alum chosen at random who answered the day’s trivia question correctly won a piece of ND memorabilia, such as a pennant, The Shirt for 2012 or an alumni license plate holder.

The tasks included in the Challenge encouraged alumni to learn more about events taking place at Notre Dame, and to use their time and talents to help current students. To earn points for the drawings, alumni could complete online scavenger hunts or sign up to mentor students, among other activities.

At the 2012 Reunion dinner on June 1, Graduate Alumni Relations staff drew the winners’ names. Alan Jolly (EMBA 2003) won the grand prize of a trip for two to see the Irish take on the University of Miami at Chicago’s Soldier field on October 6. Justin Gruba (MS Acct 2008) and Noreen Kazi (MBA 2006) respectively came in second and third place, and each won a pair of tickets to a 2012 home football game of their choice.
