Eileen A. Spillane of Stamford, Connecticut has been selected as the winner of the University of Notre Dame’s 2007 Lucy Blandford Pilkinton Memorial Scholarship. Ms. Spillane is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Marketing and Computer Applications.

As an MBA candidate at Notre Dame, Ms. Spillane concentrated in Marketing and served as an intern with Procter & Gamble during the summer of 2006. Following graduation in May, she will return to P&G as a full-time Assistant Brand Manager at the company’s headquarters in Cincinnati.

Finalists for the award were selected by the faculty of the Eugene D. Fanning Center in the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame for excellence in communication skills and exemplary personal characteristics. Six finalists were selected and one winner was determined
following faculty interviews.

The scholarship includes a cash award and a commemorative pewter plate engraved with her name and the award, along with the heraldry of the College. The award, funded by donations
from the Pilkinton family, honors the life and work of Lucy B. Pilkinton, who taught communication courses in the business school from 1991 to 1994.

Ms. Spillane is the 13th recipient of the Pilkinton Scholarship, established in 1995. For more on the scholarship and the Fanning Center for Business Communication, you are invited to visit the Center’s Website at www.nd.edu/~fanning.
