First Capital announced that Thomas W. “Tim” Strachan has been promoted to senior executive vice president in the Boca Raton, FL office.

Strachan is the chief credit officer responsible for the day-to-day management of client and customer First Capital’s interest in Siemens First Capital Commercial Finance, LLC, a joint venture between Siemens Financial Services and First Capital.

Prior to joining First Capital, Strachan founded T & B Connections, LLC, a continuation of MetSource Capital, LLC, of which he was co-founder, managing director and 20% owner. At both T&B Connections and MetSource Capital, he worked on advising clients in areas such as due diligence examinations for lending institutions, venture funds and private institutions, firms operating in bankruptcy and performing forensic accounting functions.

He has a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, is a member of the Sorin Society of Notre Dame and a member of the Board of Directors of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ.

John W. Kiefer, CEO of First Capital, stated, “More than any other individual at First Capital, our ability to work through the treacherous credit environment is dependent upon Tim and his common sense approach to credit analysis.” Kiefer went on to say, “During 2008, Tim’s judgments were almost perfect and one of the primary reasons First Capital has done well in the current environment.”
