LandAmerica names Peter A. Habenicht vice president-corporate communications

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a leading provider of real estate transaction services, announces that Peter A. Habenicht has joined the company as Vice President – Corporate Communications. Habenicht is responsible for developing and executing overall strategy for LandAmerica’s media relations. He works with the company’s public relations agency in setting a comprehensive visibility strategy and also serves as lead strategist and writer for company position papers and business releases. He is based in Richmond, Virginia. Habenicht brings to LandAmerica more than two decades of experience as a senior-level, integrated communications management strategist. During that time, he has served in a variety of leadership positions in both the private and public sectors.

Habenicht earned his master of science degree in Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University and his bachelor of arts degree, with a major in Marketing and a minor in English, from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with Honors.

Habenicht is a past Chairman of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Virginia, a Founding Board Member of The Carver Promise, and a Board and Finance Committee Member of Meals On Wheels. His writings have appeared in numerous magazines, journals, newspapers, and corporate publications.
