Leadership expert to sign new book at Notre Dame bookstore

Published: November 23, 2015 / Author: Carol Elliott

Innovator and author Robert J. Anderson has taught leadership courses for more than 12 years as part of the Executive Integral Leadership program at the University of Notre Dame, introducing executives to new ways of thinking about their companies, their employees and most importantly, themselves.

On December 2, Anderson will launch his just-published book, Mastering Leadership: An Integrated Framework for Breakthrough Performance and Extraordinary Business Results, during a book-signing session from 4:30-6:30 p.m. ET in the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore.  He also will be signing books on January 29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. CT in the Notre Dame Chicago Classroom, located in Suite 200, 224 South Michigan Avenue.

Anderson, considered a pioneer in the field of leadership development and research, is the founder and chairman of consultancy firms The Leadership Circle and the Full Circle Group. During the past 35 years, he has dedicated his career to exploring the intersections between leadership and mastery, competence and consciousness, spirituality and business. Anderson created The Leadership Circle Profile, a 360-degree competency assessment tool that simultaneously provides focused competency feedback while revealing the underlying assumptions causing a leader’s pattern of strengths and limitations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in organizational development from Bowling Green State University.

Mastering Leadership focuses on the development of effective leadership – individually and collectively – and how that leadership can be turned into a competitive advantage. Endorsed by Marshall Goldsmith, The New York Times bestselling author of Triggers, as the “definitive book on leadership principles and practices,” it presents current research examining the relationship between leadership and business performance, and offers readers the opportunity to participate in a free, online self-assessment utilizing the Leadership Circle Profile. The book was co-authored by William A. Adams, the CEO of The Leadership Circle and the Full Circle Group.

“Leaders must evolve from the inside out,” said Anderson. “By illuminating the underlying thinking patterns that drive behavior, we give access to new choices and possibilities.”

Executive Integral Leadership (EIL), a signature program of the Stayer Center for Executive Education at the Mendoza College of Business, is a five-day program for experienced executive leaders seeking a new perspective on how to embrace the challenges of a highly competitive and complex environment.

First launched in 2002, EIL offers a holistic, integral approach to leadership in order to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth via feedback and reflection on the individual’s values, competencies and areas needing development. The program is offered as open enrollment and as part of the Notre Dame Executive MBA program. To date, more than 2,500 executives have participated in EIL.

Those interested in attending the book signing in the Hammes Bookstore on the campus of Notre Dame or in the Notre Dame Chicago Classroom should RSVP at mendoza.nd.edu/why-mendoza/news-and-events/events/calendar/eil-events/
