ND to award cash for enterprising ideas

Published: October 4, 2005 / Author: staff report

More than $40,000 in prize money is up for grabs in contests sponsored by the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

The sixth annual McCloskey Notre Dame Business Plan Competition is accepting entries from new ventures that have not been launched or are in their earliest stages. The contest has a grand prize of $15,000. Up to $24,000 in prize money will be awarded to the top finishers.

Notre Dame also is sponsoring a Social Venture Plan Competition, which will award more than $5,000 in prize money. That’s open to “business initiatives that have a social mission or purpose,” a university statement said.
