Norwest Mezzanine Partners (NMP) is pleased to announce the promotion of William L. Dietz to Partner. NMP invests up to $40 million in middle-market buyout, recapitalization and growth transactions sponsored by private equity firms.

Michael Hall, NMP General Partner, stated, “Bill has been an instrumental part of our team since the inception of our first fund in 2000. He has made significant contributions to our continued success and has participated in virtually each investment in our portfolio. On behalf of the NMP partnership, I am confident that he will continue to do so, and more, in his new role as a partner.”

Developing and maintaining relationships with financial sponsors is one of the key focus areas of NMP’s business since all of its investments are sourced from private equity firms. Karen Tuleta, a Partner at Morgenthaler Partners, shared “Since the time of that first transaction with NMP four years ago, Bill has proven himself to be incredibly diligent, responsive, and insightful. His creative approach to financial engineering and transaction structuring has proven to be a real benefit to Morgenthaler.”

Dietz joined NMP in January 2001 as an Associate and was promoted to Principal in August 2005. He has been responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, and portfolio management as well as the development and maintenance of NMP’s systems and internal controls.

Dietz previously worked as a financial analyst and chief financial officer for Equity Research, Inc., an investment company focused on public and private equity investments. Prior to that, he co-founded Computer Guidance Group, a financial consulting firm. Additionally, Dietz worked with Arthur Andersen in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Auditing and Operational Consulting practices.

Dietz holds a BA degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.

Timothy DeVries, NMP Managing General Partner, stated, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity and capability to continue to build a cohesive and committed team that is motivated to work together to grow our firm. Bill’s promotion is indicative of the strength of our mezzanine team, and he has been a key player in our growth strategy and investment efforts.”
