Physiotherapy Associates, a leading U.S. provider of outpatient rehabilitation services, has announced that its board of directors has appointed Daniel J. Connors as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Connors assumes the position from chairman and CEO William R. Floyd, 63, who resigned his positions with the company and the board to pursue other interests.

Exton-based Physiotherapy Associates is the parent company of Keystone Rehabilitation Systems, which operates 80 clinics in Pennsylvania and Ohio, including three in Indiana County. The company has 650 clinics in 34 states.

Connors, 50, brings to Physiotherapy more than 25 years of leadership experience. In his most recent position as CEO of Wire One Communications Inc., Connors led the company to double-digit growth. Before that, he spearheaded Kinko’s turnaround to increase the company’s sales and revenues. Connors has also held executive positions with Bain & Company Inc., HQ Global Workplaces Inc. and Wang Laboratories Inc.

Connors began his career as a lawyer. He served in the U.S. Air Force General Counsel’s Office at the Pentagon, and holds law degrees from Georgetown University and Ohio State University. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. Connors serves on the board of directors of United Stationers Inc.
