Retired General Electric CEO Welch to speak April 13

Jack Welch, retired chairman of the board and chief executive officer of General Electric Co., will lead a question-and-answer session and sign copies of his new book “Winning” at a presentation Wednesday (April 13) at the University of Notre Dame.

Welch will discuss management, leadership, candor and other business issues addressed in the book beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Jordan Auditorium of the Mendoza College of Business. The event is free and open to the public.

Most of the material in “Winning” was collected during Welch’s travels around the world since his retirement from GE in 2001. Written with his wife, Suzy Welch, the book includes chapters on strategy, budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, organic growth, and GE’s Six Sigma quality initiaitve.   

Representatives from the Notre Dame Hammes Bookstore will be on site to sell copies of Welch’s book. The event is sponsored by the Mendoza College of Business.
