Study Suggests Green, Socially Responsible Jobs Improve Worker Well-Being

A new research project, entitled “Business for the Greater Good” and led by Ante Glavas of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, has put forth the idea that the level of workforce productivity can rise up to 40% when workers feel that the task they are performing contributes to a larger, societal cause.

In partnership with his colleague Matt Bloom, who is an Associate Management Professor at the University of Notre Dame, Ante Glavas, who conducts research regarding corporate social responsibility recruited the assistance of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, an institution which focuses its efforts on reducing greenhouse gas emissions produced by dairy farms and production facilities and their impact.
