Dennis Zhang, Olin Business School at Washington University

Dennis Zhang joined the faculty at the Olin Business School in 2016 after completing his PhD in Managerial Economics and Operations at Northwestern University and working at Google as a machine learning software engineer. His research examines operations in innovative marketplaces and the public sector, with a special emphasis on how data-driven decision-making and machine learning can improve digital platforms such as Amazon, Alibaba, and Airbnb. More recent research has also focused on green e-commerce and the environmental impact of fast delivery.

His work has been published in Management Science, Marketing Science, Operations Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. He currently serves as an Area Editor for Operations Research and as an Associate Editor for Management Science, Marketing Science, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. He is a Professor of Supply Chain, Operations, and Technology and a Professor of Marketing.
