What You’ll Learn
The MSM is a rigorous full-time program, located on our iconic campus. You’ll join a collaborative cohort of individuals representing a diverse set of undergraduate universities and majors.
Go from Learner to Leader in 11 months
First, build a basis of business knowledge with courses in the principles of management, statistics and accounting in the summer. Then, move through courses in transformational leadership, strategic communications, and micro-economic analysis in the fall. Your year ends with a spring term that covers strategic decision-making, international management and corporate finance.
Transformational Leadership Portfolio
This distinctive course is about self-reflective learning and encouraging students to take stock of themselves, their values, and their leadership. Once the self-assessment is complete, students produce a digital portfolio that tells their story – something employers view as a true differentiator in the marketplace.
At Mendoza, your business education is enriched through the essential element of experiential learning. During Grow Irish Week you will have the invaluable opportunity to witness the tangible impact of business decisions by engaging in consulting projects with various organizations, immersing yourself in the real-world context.
Focus Your Studies with an MSM Concentration
- The Finance concentration prepares you to tackle complex challenges through the real-time application of advanced Excel methodologies, supply and demand principles, and managerial economics.
- With the Marketing concentration, you’ll explore digital strategies related to marketing and its role in business today, as well as topics in automation, artificial intelligence, and sales management.

As an MSM student, you have the opportunity to:
- Participate in a variety of clubs, including the MSM Association where you will plan events and service projects for your fellow MSM students
- Attend a Notre Dame Graduate Alumni tailgate and mix with alumni, professors and recruiters in a casual setting, then watch the game from the graduate student section at Notre Dame Stadium

You will be challenged by world-class faculty, inspired by accomplished alumni, and will collaborate with students from diverse personal and academic backgrounds.
Alumnus "I felt so much more confident coming into interviews, speaking the same language of business and being able to articulate my value."
Alumna "The MSM program takes those liberal arts degrees, those science degrees, those engineering degrees, and gives you the skillset to be able to succeed in the corporate world."
Alumna "Notre Dame loves Notre Dame, and I think that truly shines through our network."
Student “One of the best things about Notre Dame is that we are all like one big family from home game tailgates to struggling through accounting together.”
The MSM program is designed for individuals who have earned bachelor’s degrees in non-business disciplines. We cannot accept applications from students who majored in finance, accounting, marketing, management, business or dual-degree business programs. Economics majors and business minors (18 credit hours of business courses or fewer) are welcome to apply.
Applicants who received a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or higher, or those who will have their degree conferred from the University of Notre Dame, will have the GRE/GMAT waived. Students are still welcome to take the exam, but a lack of score will not have a negative impact on their admissibility. TOEFL and IELTS scores will still be required from international students who studied outside of the U.S. or did not study at an English-instructed institution.
