SecūrSpace, a University of Notre Dame startup and co-winner of the 2018 $50,000 McCloskey New Venture Competition grand prize, announced today that it has been selected to participate in the 2018 cohort of MassChallenge Boston, a nationally-ranked high-potential startup accelerator.

17 area teams were awarded more than $400,000 in cash and in-kind prizes at the 2018 McCloskey New Venture Competition on Friday, April 27.

There’s more to blockchain technology than Bitcoin.

A new MBA competition hosted by the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business will focus on innovative business uses for blockchain, the distributed database technology that powers cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Teams from seven business schools will share their ideas and compete for $10,000 in prize money during the Notre Dame MBA Technology Innovation Challenge from 1 to 5 p.m. April 20 (Friday) in Mendoza’s Jordan Auditorium. The event, sponsored by Thomson Reuters, is open to the public.

Rob McColgan, a 2002 Mendoza College of Business graduate, and his business partner Anthony Pigliacampo won the McCloskey Business Plan Competition in 2009 and opened their restaurant, Modern Market.

Last month, the chain debuted inside Notre Dame’s new Duncan Student Center. This is Modern Market’s first campus location.
