MBA Admissions Update

Author: Brian Lohr

Mod 1 is in full swing here on campus and I’m excited to see all of our MBA students buzzing through the halls. This past May we welcomed 68 students into the One Year MBA Class of 2011 and just a few weeks ago we welcomed 134 new students into the Two Year MBA Class of 2012.

These 202 students came from more than 32 different U.S. states and 12 different countries – from as close as Illinois to as far away as Uzbekistan! They completed their undergraduate educations at 136 different academic institutions all over the world. We welcomed 23 soon-to-be “Double Domers” as well as 5 alumni from Cal Polytechnic University - San Luis Obispo! Go Mustangs!

Our new students came from all across industry as well. We had students from all branches of the military as well as from some of the world’s top companies including Booz Allen Hamilton, Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Sony Pictures, and Honeywell just to name a few. We even had two students coming from front-office positions with U.S. professional soccer teams!

I’m also pleased to announce that both incoming classes set new records for academic aptitude, posting the highest average GMAT’s and average undergraduate GPA’s in the history of their respective programs. I’m excited to see what they can accomplish here at Notre Dame and in the years ahead and I hope you will get the chance to meet them soon.

Our new application cycle is already underway and I will be sure to keep you updated on our progress throughout the year. My staff and I will also be reaching out to you for help in bringing in another fantastic class. Please consider volunteering as an alumni interviewer or participating in an Admissions event.
