SmartSource Computer & Audio Visual Rentals Announces New Vice President of Sales

SmartSource Computer & Audio Visual Rentals (Hauppauge, NY), one of the nation’s leading providers of computer, audio visual (AV) and trade show technology rentals and services, has announced the appointment of Michael J. Christin as Vice President of Sales. In this role, Mr. Christin will apply his vast sales and marketing experience to manage SmartSource’s nationwide sales force of over 60 team members, support the company’s growing national business, develop new markets and channels for the company’s products and services, create strategies to retain and grow the company’s existing client base, and improve profitability.

Christin brings to his new role at SmartSource over two decades of senior sales and marketing experience encompassing strategic business development, new product launches, key account management, channel partner alliances and new market development. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Lodgenet Interactive Corporation (Sioux Falls, SD), where he exceeded service and support revenue targets, negotiated major account contracts, effectively led a 50-person team, and implemented a successful reorganization of the company’s sales force into more productive, geographically-based regional teams.

Prior to his position at Lodgenet, he served as Vice President of Sales, Global Accounts with Siemens AG (Chicago, IL). His tenure at Siemens was marked with many performance highlights including his personal negotiation of an $18 million contract with Bosch Corp. He has also worked in sales leadership roles with AT&T Corporation (Brookfield, WI), The Disney Channel of The Walt Disney Company (Burbank, CA) and IBM Corporation (Chicago, IL).

Christin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) and a Master of Business Administration in Sales & Marketing Management from the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, IL).

He resides in Chicago, IL and will be relocating to Long Island, NY.
