St. Gregory’s University recently named Dennis Sander its new vice president for fiscal affairs. Sander will oversee SGU’s offices of fiscal affairs, financial aid, mail services, information technology, facility rentals and the Mabee Aerobic Center.

Sander has extensive experience as a senior executive with additional expertise in operations and management systems.

He has been the chief financial officer for several institutions of higher education.

“I am excited to be a part of St. Gregory’s University,” Sander said. “The opportunity to be a part of a Catholic university that is determined to grow in size and quality is both an honor and a privilege.”

Sander most recently was the vice president for business and finance at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wis. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Northeastern Junior College as its vice president for finance and administration.

Sander was vice president for fiscal affairs at Avila University from 1998-2000.

“All of us in the St. Gregory’s community are pleased to have Mr. Sander and his family join our team,” said SGU President Dave Wagie, Ph.D. “Having been a chief financial officer at previous institutions, Dennis brings a wealth of financial and leadership experience that will serve our university well as we move forward in our strategic planning for the future.”

Sander earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kan., and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

He and his wife, Judy, have been married for 20 years and have two children: Melissa (19) and Madelyn (14).
