USA Today ranks Notre Dame No. 1 for IT Management

The University of Notre Dame was ranked No. 1 on a just-released USA Today listing of the top 10 colleges for degrees in management information systems.
According to the news outlet, the ranking was developed to “reward schools that provide excellent outcomes to students, including high graduation rates, low student loan default rates, and high salaries after graduation.”
“We have top-notch faculty here and wonderfully bright students who really understand what we mean by ‘business for good,’” said Rob Easley, the John W. Berry Sr. Associate Professor of Business and Department of Management chair. “Once our students have the technical skills, judgment and ability to develop valuable insights from ever-growing amounts of data, they are well on their way to exciting careers.”
The article noted that the IT Management major offered by the Mendoza College of Business “prepares a student for not only the technical aspects of the job, but also the human and ethical aspects,” and that Mendoza “understands that the computers are there to serve the people, and the people are there to serve the world.”

Mendoza College of Business offers an IT Management major as part of its undergraduate degree program, which is designed to prepare students to become leaders in the use of information systems for the benefit of organizations and society. The Notre Dame MBA also features a concentration track in business analytics, where students study quantitative techniques and computer software that help businesses make better decisions. The Master of Science in Business Analytics, launched in 2015 in Mendoza’s facility in downtown Chicago, is a one-year, 30-credit-hour program for working professionals seeking a focused education in the strategic use of data and data systems.
