Krista Foster is an Instructor in the IT, Analytics, and Operations Department at the Mendoza College of Business. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Katz Graduate School of Business at University of Pittsburgh. Motivated by inefficiencies in the healthcare industry and collaborations with clinicians, her research is focused on healthcare operations management. More specifically, she studies emergency department operations and the management of large-scale emergency physician networks. Her research has been published in Production and Operations Management and Annals of Emergency Medicine.
Prior to joining the University of Pittsburgh, Krista worked as a statistician at Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation. She has an M.S. degree in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. degree in Mathematics and a B.A. degree in Economics, both from Youngstown State University.
