  • Biography

In 1982, Thom Villing partnered with his wife Jeannine to found Villing & Company, a South Bend - based integrated marketing communications agency. As president, Thom leads the management and business development efforts of the agency. He has served as president of the local chapters of both the American Marketing Association and the former Sales & Advertising Executives Club and has been honored with lifetime achievement awards from both organizations.

Prior to establishing Villing & Company, Thom was vice president/creative director for Markmakers, Inc. and previously was marketing manager for a Cincinnati manufacturing company. Throughout the course of his career, he has worked with multiple prominent brands including McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme, Wheel Horse, Ralston Purina, Coachmen, Holiday Rambler, Jayco, A M General, Notre Dame and the College Football Hall of Fame and others. In addition, as a co-founder of the South Bend Regional Sports Commission, Thom was instrumental in bringing the 2005 McDonald’s High School All-American Games to South Bend and Notre Dame, and involved in the PR and marketing of this national event.

An avid professional writer, Thom regularly publishes articles on various marketing communications subjects including the branding, a topic of which he is particularly passionate. He has also been an occasional speaker on these subjects. Previously, he has been on the adjunct faculty at Bethel College.
