Ilona Bastiaansen is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy at the University of Notre Dame. Ilona's research focuses on bankruptcy, financial distress, and voluntary disclosure. In the Mendoza College of Business, she teaches Foundations of Accountancy. Prior to joining the faculty, Ilona worked as a Chartered Professional Accountant in Deloitte's Assurance practice and taught at the University of Saskatchewan. Ilona received her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Connecticut and her Master of Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan.
