  • Biography

Joel Farran joined Mendoza in 2021 as Associate Director of Graduate Business Degree Development. He oversees career education and serves as career coach for Executive MBA and Master of Finance students. Farran works closely with program and academic directors to develop curriculum and programs that support mid- to senior-level career professionals. Farran develops and maintains relationships with key employers and serves as a conduit to alumni who can support students in career development and job opportunities.

Farran earned his M.S. in Health Systems Management from Rush University Medical Center College of Health Sciences and a B.S. in Psychology from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Prior to joining Mendoza, Farran served as Chief Brand Officer and Senior VP at Health Care Service Corporation—the largest not for profit health insurer in the country. His 20-year career in health care included experience in mergers & acquisition; corporate and business unit strategy development; large-scale initiative implementation; and overseeing corporate relations and community investment functions. Farran currently holds Chicago community and advisory positions in the areas of healthcare technology acceleration, equitable good food systems development, arts and culture capacity building in divested communities, and safe environment youth sports program development.
