John Aland is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy. John's research is focused on traditional and non-traditional financial institutions, with a particular focus on banks and equity crowdfunding. He teaches Strategic Cost Management to undergraduates in the Mendoza College of Business. Prior to joining the faculty at Notre Dame, John was an Assistant Professor at Fairfield University in Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2021, and earned his BA in Accounting from the Mendoza College of Business in 2009.
