Dr. Nan Zhang is a Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations at the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining Notre Dame, he held faculty positions at American University, George Washington University, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Florida. He has also served as a Program Director and expert at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Zhang’s current research explores the societal impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) and the development of machine learning methods for the social sciences. His work in these areas has been supported by federal agencies such as the NSF, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the U.S. Army, as well as by corporate sponsors including Amazon and Meta.
