Sarah Chase

Sarah R. Chase is a fifth year Ph.D. student in the Department of Management & Organization at the University of Notre Dame. Her research explores the psychological and social processes underlying entrepreneurial action and the effects of these processes on opportunity construction, opportunity exploitation, and value creation and destruction. She also studies how, why, and with what consequences individuals engage in entrepreneurship in impoverished communities. She relies primarily on qualitative methods to explore these questions, collaborating closely with entrepreneurs, financiers, non-profit organizations, and local community members. Prior to academia, Sarah worked in investment banking at Citigroup and also in private equity in Johannesburg, South Africa.
