“I am honored to serve as faculty director of NDIGI and excited to bring my research expertise to the Institute,” said Tamoni. “NDIGI is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between academic insight and real-world investment practice. I look forward to advancing the Institute’s global visibility by fostering cutting-edge research, strengthening collaboration between scholars and industry leaders, and leading the conversation on how academic insights can shape investment strategies and inform critical policy debates.”

Established in 2015, NDIGI aims to become the world’s leading university-based investment management research and education program by bringing together ideas and people to address critical industry topics. The Institute’s mission includes enhancing Mendoza’s finance curriculum, expanding internship and career placement opportunities, and supporting faculty research and thought leadership in global investment management.

The Institute organizes and supports a number of events, courses and programs to advance learning and thought leadership in investment management, including the annual Women’s Investing Summit and Mendoza’s signature Applied Investment Management course.

Tamoni joined Notre Dame in August 2024, previously serving as a faculty member at Rutgers Business School and the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on empirical asset pricing, macro-finance and financial econometrics, with his current studies examining the impact of investor demand on asset prices and returns. He has also investigated the dynamics of stock and bond returns and the interaction between monetary and fiscal policy with the term structure of interest rates.

His work has been published in top journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Political Economy. He has designed and led courses on investments, financial derivatives, fixed income markets and financial econometrics at the master’s, executive and Ph.D. levels.

Tamoni earned his Ph.D. from Bocconi University, his M.S. from Politecnico di Milano and his B.S. from the University of Ferrara.
