ND, Purdue MBA programs rise in survey

SOUTH BEND — The Mendoza College of Business MBA Program at the University of Notre Dame rose five spots to 24th in BusinessWeek magazine’s recent biennial survey of the top 30 business schools in the nation.
Notre Dame’s five-place jump in the rankings tied with Purdue and Georgetown universities for greatest improvement. Notre Dame was rated sixth in addressing ethical issues in business and ninth in its rapport with corporate recruiters.
Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management was ranked first by BusinessWeek. In addition to Notre Dame and Purdue (No. 21), the state of Indiana also was represented by Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business at 18th.
The BusinessWeek survey consisted of 45 questions sent to 18,052 Class of 2004 MBA graduates from 94 schools worldwide. In addition, the magazine surveyed 223 companies that regularly hire MBA graduates and calculated each school’s intellectual capital by evaluating the public reach of faculty members.
