Notre Dame business dean leaving the university to become CEO of Catholic Relief Services

The
dean of the University of Notre Dame’s business school for the past 14 years is
leaving her post to become president and chief executive officer of Catholic
Relief Services.
Carolyn Woo will take over at the international humanitarian agency on Jan. 1,
replacing Ken Hackett. He is retiring after leading the agency for 18 years.
Notre
Dame Provost Thomas Burish says the Mendoza College made tremendous strides
under Woo.
Tucson Bishop Gerald Kicanas (kih-KAYN’-as) chairs the relief agency’s board of
directors and says the organization is blessed to find such an outstanding,
faith-filled leader.
The 57-year-old Woo served on the Catholic Relief Services board from 2004
until 2010. She previously served as associate executive vice president for
academic affairs at Purdue University.
