Siblings Saad and Shiza Kamil are students in Notre Dame’s
Saad Kamil came to Notre Dame more than 7,000 miles from home in Karachi, Pakistan, seeking the education his parents never had. Through the joint Master of Global Affairs/MBA program, he’s discovering how business can be a force for positive change. From conducting resilience research in Nigeria and Sri Lanka to improving financial inclusion in Kyrgyzstan through Business on the Frontlines, Saad has found his path at the intersection of global development and ethical business practice. This spring, he’ll graduate and join the consulting firm Simon-Kucher, where he’ll help clients leverage emerging technologies to improve medical diagnostics.
Saad’s journey to Notre Dame parallels that of his younger sister Shiza, who followed him to the Keough School a year later. Both siblings are pursuing sustainable development degrees, building on their shared commitment to making a global impact while finding a tight-knit community far from home. Whether hosting potlucks for classmates, attending football games, or collaborating on team projects with peers from around the world, the Kamils have discovered that Notre Dame offers more than academic excellence—it provides a second home where first-generation college students can thrive.
