Five Women in Business members win 2021 Everyone’s Business Global Case Competition

Five of Mendoza’s Women in Business club members took home first place and $10,000 after conquering the 2021 Everyone’s Business Global Case Competition, sponsored by USC Marshall and investment bank UBS. Below, they share their insights and takeaways from this year’s competition.

A team of five Women in Business club members took home top honors and $10,000 with a winning proposal to advance equity in the business lending space.

The 2021 Everyone’s Business Global Case Competition, sponsored by USC Marshall and investment banking leader UBS, challenged teams to develop a strategy for how to better support and advise minority-owned businesses seeking funding.

Mendoza’s team of women developed a proposal that included both short- and long-term strategies for UBS to consider. These suggestions included the development of more representative and inclusive marketing materials, and offering financial literacy workshops or mentorship opportunities to minority business owners.

In the end, this group of Mendoza women garnered top honors for their holistic approach to the competition prompt. Below, members of the winning team share their insights from the competition and what they learned from the experience.
