Specialized Master's Programs
MSF Career Services
Students entering the MSF program have a wide variety of career needs and objectives. All are looking to accelerate and advance their careers. Some will do that with their current employer. Others come in with the intention to make a career change or job switch. Still, others will see their career objectives evolve during the course of the MSF program. Our commitment to you is to help you acquire the skills and confidence necessary to manage all current and future career decisions.
Below is information on a wide variety of career developmental activities that are available to our enrolled students and alumni. They range from one-on-one career coaching to multiple on-line resources to interaction with the Notre Dame alumni network. We provide a full range of opportunities that allow each MSF student to customize their individual career development for success.
1. Clarify Your Career Direction

The Good-to-Great Resume
Our coaches know the five keys to passing the screens of highly skilled recruiters and automated scanners, vastly increasing your chances of being selected for interviews.
Making Your Case
Whether you plan to stay with your current company or switch to a new employer, you must be able to make your case that you are the right candidate for more senior roles. Mendoza's practical, real-life 4-step method will give you the edge for that target opportunity.
3. Connect With Influential Alumni
Mendoza Alumni Learning Forums
Students and Alumni meet four times a year at our beautiful Chicago campus to hear from a slate of distinguished C-Level speakers on topics such as big-picture strategy, economic trends, leadership, and technology's impact on business...while enjoying food and refreshments and each others' company. It's a great opportunity to connect with like-minded colleagues.
On-Campus Networking Opportunities
In Chicago and South Bend, we host a variety of networking events, ranging from guest speakers, intimate alumni receptions, career fairs, to a major annual Mendoza Networking event in Chicago open to all current students and alumni.=
Exclusive Access to Notre Dame's Alumni Directory
Notre Dame welcomes new graduate business students to register on our legendary alumni directory and gain access to our worldwide alumni base. Career Development professionals guide students on the best ways to identify and reach alumni in the geographies and organizations they are most interested in.
4. Strategically Monitor Employment Markets
Irish Compass Alumni Jobs Board Portal
Notre Dame will roll out Irish Compass in 2017, an alumni jobs board and mentoring portal serving Notre Dame graduate students and alumni exclusively. Irish Compass is an essential tool for students to connect with volunteer alumni experts in various fields for advice and networking. The jobs board contains hundreds of open positions from firms looking specifically to hire Domers.
CareerShift Jobs Aggregator
This powerful tool for Mendoza students and alumni automates your job search, allowing you to personalize and filter your search criteria and automatically receive regular email updates with direct links to new job postings perfect for you.
GoIRISH Jobs Board
Notre Dame's top recruiters use GoIRISH to post employment opportunities. Go IRISH is the tool of choice for Mendoza undergraduates and full-time MBA students and is also available for working professionals enrolled in our weekend degree programs.
Malkum Mursalov, MSF'17
"In terms of Experience, there were so many "bests" that it is hard to choose one. First, the schedule and the curriculum suited me, I felt that I was set up for success while maintaining my job. Outside of selecting my track, I did not have to make any decisions related to administrative matters such as buying books or registering for classes. Second, the professors and visiting professionals were incredible - most notably Walt Clements, Robert Battalio, Gianna Bern, Dan Connors, and Jerry Langley. Third, being able to spend time on the South Bend campus and meeting other Mendoza students. Finally, my colleagues in the program were supportive and we still keep in touch. I could not have asked for a better experience!"
Patricia Borowiec, MSF '16
"I wanted to let you know that I was offered a position at a large trading firm in Chicago. During the hiring process, I was told my current status as a student at ND MSF opened the door for my interview. I will be accepting the role, which includes a 33% pay raise from my current position. GO IRISH!"
Andy Gamboa, MSF'18
"Graduating from the MSF program at University of Notre Dame provided me instant credibility when interviewing with potential employer looking to hire from the nations top finance graduate business programs. After graduating, I joined a top-tier multi-strategy hedge fund, and have carried the lessons learned from the classroom into real world situations."
