Notre Dame Marketing Case Competition

Put your marketing skills to the test in the inaugural Notre Dame Marketing Case Competition.

Form a team of two to four Notre Dame undergraduate students and develop a solution to a real-world marketing challenge involving Under Armour®. Your team will apply its creativity, analytical skills, and strategic thinking before presenting its recommendations to marketing faculty and industry professionals.

Participation is limited to the first 16 eligible teams to register. Registration may therefore close before the deadline.

    Competition kickoff and case release. Teams will gather for the official kickoff and receive the case prompt and competition instructions. Additional information will be emailed to registered teams.

    Presentation submission deadline
  • September 18, 2026, 12:00–6:00 p.m.
    Case competition
    A detailed presentation schedule will be provided to registered teams.

Case Competition Rules

Registration and Eligibility

  • The competition is open to all undergraduate students at the University of Notre Dame.
  • Participation is limited to the first 16 eligible teams to register.
  • Each team must consist of two, three, or four students. Individual entries are not permitted.
  • Team composition may not be changed after registration without prior approval.
  • All teams must register by September 9, 2026, unless registration closes earlier because the maximum number of teams has been reached.
  • Registered teams will receive the case materials and detailed instructions on September 14, 2026.

Research, Resources, and Conduct

  • Students are permitted to use any publicly available materials, data, or other resources.
  • All copyright laws must be followed. Referenced materials must be appropriately disclosed per the University of Notre Dame’s Copyright Policies and Guidelines.
  • The use of Artificial Intelligence is permitted, but must be appropriately disclosed per the University of Notre Dame’s AI Policies and Guidelines.
  • Caring for the Notre Dame visual brand is a responsibility of the communicators at the University. OnMessage is a repository of the elements and how-to’s that help maintain a consistent, cohesive, and effective visual identity for the University of Notre Dame and its entities.
  • Teams may not contact Under Armour or its employees directly regarding the competition.
  • Corporate partnership copyright policies and guidelines must be followed. Guidelines and digital logos will be given at the time of the prompt.
  • Students who have previously interned with Under Armour may offer office hours to provide general background about the company. They may not provide guidance, feedback, or assistance with a team’s analysis, recommendations, or presentation.
  • All participants are expected to demonstrate academic integrity and professional conduct throughout the competition.

Presentation & Submission Requirements

  • Presentations will be submitted no later than 11:00 AM Friday, September 18th, 2026.
  • Late submissions will be disqualified.
  • Presentation must not exceed thirteen (13) slides.
  • The presentation file should be titled with your team name.
  • Presentations may be submitted in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or PDF format.
  • All team members must participate in either the presentation, the question-and-answer session, or both.
  • Teams should dress in professional business attire.
  • First-round presentations will take place on Friday, September 18th, 2026, between 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Selected finalists will advance to a final presentation before representatives of the sponsoring company.
