JULY 10, 2017

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Leadership Strengths 2.0
Do we really know our strengths as leaders? Using the book Strengths-based Leadership, participants will be given individual assessments to refer to as the week unfolds.

1:30 – 5:00 PM | Organizational Evaluation
This workshop helps nonprofit leaders prepare their organizations for the evaluation process as it relates to leadership, organizational culture, resources, structures and organizational context. Participants will learn how the evaluation process can save resources, increase the quality of their evaluations and prepare their organizations for long-term engagement in program evaluation.

JULY 11, 2017

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Leadership in Catholic Organizations
What does it truly take in today’s world to be the leader of a Catholic organization? What new skills do we need to learn in order to navigate the new landscapes, and what traditions do we need to hold on to? These and other issues will be discussed.

1:30 – 5:00 PM | The History and Current State of Philanthropy and Charity
This session will be comprised of two 90 minute panels. Experts from global foundations will share their knowledge of how giving began, how it has changed over time and why it is important for Catholic organizations to strengthen their organizations and clarify their missions.

JULY 12, 2017

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Essentials of Strategic Planning If you are frustrated by a lack of direction, growth stagnation or strategic confusion, this workshop will get you back on track. In this fast-paced session participants will cover the essentials of strategic planning including best practices.

1:30 – 5:00 PM | From Culture to Mission
Mission is critical to the successful implementation of a strategic plan. In this module, participants will examine some of the elements that help define an organization’s culture. We also will look at those components of an organization that can assist in reading or diagnosing its culture, as well as identifying the need for a culture change.

JULY 13, 2017

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Change Management and Immunity to Change
Participants will engage in the Immunity to Change™ map process. This approach helps leaders as individuals and teams to focus on what is most important to them when seeking to improve performance or develop their self.

1:30 – 5:00 PM | Innovation
This session will provide participants with the tools and mindset to capitalize on change and lead the way in serving emerging market needs. A series of participatory exercises will be utilized to engage the participants and help develop “muscle memory” in using the methods described in the course.

JULY 14, 2017

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | The Leader’s Role in Fundraising
This will be an interactive session where participants will be exposed to the latest research on donor giving patterns and motivations, and what nonprofits must do to create alignment between the donor and their organization.

1:30 – 5:00 PM | Conflict Management – Leveraging Polarities
At the personal level, how do you make a difference while also enjoying life? At the organizational level, how do you centralize for coordination and decentralize for responsiveness? These are trick questions: Successful organizations can’t choose one or the other, they need to combine the polarities for optimal effectiveness. This session will help you distinguish between problems you can solve and polarities you can leverage.

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Bringing it All Together: Leadership at the Next Level
This will be a summation of the week, a time to reflect on our experience. It will challenge participants to create an action plan that will implement two or three of the new ideas and strategies learned from the program.
