With the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) from Notre Dame, you create impact. You understand the techniques and challenges of data while telling the stories of data in a powerful way. Ultimately, you become a fundamental conduit between the data teams and decision-makers in management. The MSBA is a STEM-designated degree program designed for new graduates and professionals with less than two years of work experience.

Data Visualization through an Ethical Lens
Guided by a foundation in ethical decision making, you'll employ the latest in data visualization technology to demonstrate how to improve production cycles and prescribe strategic solutions based on historical data and predictive analytics.

Notre Dame’s Master of Science in Business Analytics is a one-year program designed for recent graduates who want to jump start their career in Big Data. There are two 7-week modules per semester and a 1-week interterm. In between, you’ll be a true part of the Notre Dame family. From football games and concerts to world-class speakers and community service, your life will extend far beyond the classroom.
As a Notre Dame MSBA student, you can:
- Participate in a variety of business clubs and honor societies, such as Beta Alpha Psi or the Business Analytics Club of Notre Dame.
- Provide community-based learning, research or service through the Center for Social Concerns.
- Attend a Notre Dame Graduate Alumni tailgate and mix with alumni, professors and recruiters in a casual setting, then watch the game from the graduate student section at Notre Dame Stadium.

What You’ll Learn: MSBA Course of Study
This 31-credit hour program provides a master’s level understanding of business analytics and positions you to use data to inform complex business decisions.
Every business in every industry today is impacted with data and data-based decisions can set you apart, whether in consulting, marketing, investment banking or any other field you want to enter. The curriculum provides a set of courses around tools and technologies and a set of courses around business analytics applications and skills. Additional coursework and immersions focus on the context of how analytics is used in business organizations.
In this program, you will learn to apply analytics techniques for Big Data including:
- Data mining
- Data storage and manipulation
- Data visualization
You will be challenged by world-class faculty and inspired by accomplished alumni. You will collaborate with students from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds.

Early Decision candidates are expected to withdraw their candidacy from other schools and provide a non-refundable $1,000 deposit once they are admitted to the program.
- International Applicants
International candidates are strongly encouraged to apply by January 12 to allow time for VISA paperwork and processing.
Most MSBA students have strong business or quantitative backgrounds. They all have completed the following prerequisite coursework:
- Two business courses in accounting, finance, management or marketing
Tuition & Aid
Tuition for the 2021-2022 MS in Business Analytics program is $54,580.
Merit-based fellowships are available to all qualified candidates, regardless of citizenship. These are determined by the Admissions Committee at the same time your application is being evaluated. To apply, simply check the appropriate box on the application form. No additional application is required.
