“Basics of Privacy” presented by James Lai and Nicholas Schmidt, KPMG Chicago Cyber Security Advisors.

James Lai is a member of KPMG’s Cyber Security Advisory practice specializing in data privacy risk assessment and advice, developing privacy governance frameworks, and global privacy compliance. Lai has substantial tech industry experience including Software as a Service, connected and automated driving, geolocation and other big data analytics, Internet of Things, mobile, wearable devices and applications.

Schmidt is a member of KPMG’s Cyber Security Advisory practice specializing in data privacy risk assessment and advice, developing privacy governance frameworks, and GDPR, CCPA, FTC, HIPAA, and global privacy compliance. Schmidt has strong privacy experience as a former fellow at the International Association of Privacy Professionals, his published work is available for purchase on the IAPP website.

The 2020 Ten Years Hence series will include eight lectures about Privacy.  “Basics of Privacy” is the first lecture of the series. See the website for details on additional lectures.
