Meet the Faculty

Nick Berente

Nick Berente
Sweeney Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations
Session: Introduction to AI
Nick Berente studies digital innovation and the ethical, institutional, and organizational implications of AI. He teaches Strategic Business Technology and serves as Mendoza’s Senior Associate Dean of Academic Programs. A former tech entrepreneur, he leads multiple NSF-funded projects and directs iNDustry Labs and the GAMA Lab.

 

Ahmed Abbasi

Ahmed Abbasi
Giovanini Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations
Session: Business Cases for Data and AI
Abbasi is Co-Director of the Human-centered Analytics Lab and Director of the Analytics Ph.D. program. His research focuses on text and predictive analytics and has been supported by NSF and industry leaders like AWS and Microsoft. He’s received multiple national awards and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review.

 

Nan Zhang

Nan Zhang
Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations
Session: Using Generative AI
Nan Zhang explores the societal impacts of AI and develops machine learning methods for the social sciences. His work is supported by NSF, DARPA, Amazon, and Meta. He’s held faculty roles at major research institutions and served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation.

 

Seth Berry
Associate Teaching Professor, Co-Director of MSBA
Session: Vibe Coding with Generative AI
Seth Berry blends a background in experimental psychology, data science, and statistical programming in his teaching and research. Berry teaches full-time in the ITAO department with a focus on applied analytics and generative AI. His interests include modern survey methods, human-computer interaction, and building practical AI-driven tools.
