Big data has now reached every sector of the global economy.

With the Notre Dame Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) in Chicago, you go beyond data collection to create impact. You understand the techniques and challenges of data while telling the stories of data in a powerful way. You have the unique skills and knowledge to identify and integrate data sources, develop machine learning models, and communicate the results to business leaders. Ultimately, you’ll champion the use of data to make educated business decisions.

The MSBA in Chicago is designed for working professionals.  The cohort-based in-person learning environment in downtown Chicago fosters deeper conversation and understanding of data, the power behind data to make decisions and creates connections to your classmates not available in online programs.

MSBA classes meet in downtown Chicago on alternating weekends (8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday) for a year. Augmented with three immersions at Notre Dame, the MSBA will be completed in 12 months while you maintain your full-time employment.

You’ll be able to continue working during the week and team up with a cohort of professionals for class every other Friday and Saturday in downtown Chicago. What You’ll Learn: MSBA Course of Study

The program comprises 30 credit hours over a calendar year that provide a master’s-level understanding of business analytics. It positions you to use data to inform complex business decisions.

The curriculum is delivered through a series of six modules, including a 2-credit-hour intensive module at Notre Dame and an analytics capstone project to complete the MSBA. In this program, you will learn to apply analytics techniques for Big Data including:venn diagram

If you have a strong affinity for statistical and other quantitative techniques, this program provides extensive analytics coursework to prepare you for a wide range of careers in the increasingly data-driven marketplace.

Tuition & Aid

The Notre Dame MSBA offers a competitive price, college-sponsored fellowships and financial aid, meaning any student can put together a plan to participate in the program today.

Tuition and program fees for the MSBA program starting in January 2024 are $61,535.

Tuition and program fees include:

  • Course instruction
  • Educational materials (course materials, textbooks, software, etc.)
  • Lodging and most meals during immersion weeks
  • Breakfast and lunch on class days

Financing Your Education

Most MSBA students finance their education through a combination of Notre Dame sponsored fellowships, external scholarships, personal income or savings, and graduate student loans; including both private and federal loan programs.

While some students qualify for corporate financial sponsorship through their employer, it is not required to apply to the program.
