James O'Brien (Jamie) teaches Business Law, Tax, Accounting and other law and tax-related courses to Undergraduate, Master of Accountancy, Master of Business Administration, Executive MBA, MSFR, and Master of Nonprofit Administration students. He is a CPA, as well as an Attorney, and is actively involved in professional development and service within the accounting and legal communities, having previously served as a member of the Indiana Board of Accountancy. O'Brien is also very involved in the St. Joseph County Community and previously served as a County Councilman assisting St. Joseph County as a local legislator.
O'Brien also served for fifteen (15) years as the Accountancy Department as the Assistant Chair and the DUS. He advises his students concerning course selection and other academic matters. He has served on the Board of Directors for Hannah and Friends, a local nonprofit and the Farm of the Child, a Honduran Orphanage.
O'Brien is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in Accountancy, summa cum laude, and of the Notre Dame Law School, also summa cum laude.
