MBA Programs

More than 60 percent of our MBA students receive fellowships or graduate assistantships.

Fellowships range from $5,000 to 40,000, and are awarded based on merit and the candidate’s ability to lead with integrity, foster effective organizations, and consider the greater good.

The criteria for selection of a fellowship award may include leadership traits, personal background, academic or extracurricular achievement, work history, or commitment to serving or working with historically underserved or underprivileged populations.

Fellowship Award Process

Since a fellowship evaluation is completed in conjunction with the admissions decision, a candidate only needs to apply to the program to be considered. Only the Notre Dame/NSHMBA Fellowship requires a separate application.

  • Fellowships are awarded by the MBA Admissions/Financial Aid Committee and are funded by alumni and friends who believe in our program’s mission and in our students.
  • Fellowships are awarded to students for their first year and renewed each semester based on satisfactory academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA and a full course schedule).
  • Competition is intense; not all those who qualify receive awards. Early application submission is encouraged.
  • Fellowship recipients are often expected to become involved in program leadership roles, assist with admissions processes, and/or participate in community service.
  • Awards do not cover all expenses associated with completion of the MBA. MBA candidates are expected to provide substantial funding from their own resources or from an appropriate sponsor.

Fellowship Roll

The fellowship listed below can range from $5,000 to full tuition, unless otherwise stated. Only the Notre Dame/NSHMBA Fellowship requires a separate application. All other fellowship awards are considered solely based on the program application submitted by the candidate.

John Cardinal O’Hara Society Fellowships

Notre Dame graduate alumni demonstrate their commitment to the business school and Notre Dame by financially supporting fellowships for our incoming MBA students through the John Cardinal O’Hara Society. His eminence, John Cardinal O’Hara, C.S.C., founded the College of Business at Notre Dame in 1921, served as the College’s first dean and later became president of the University.

Provost Fellowships

These merit-based fellowships usually range from $10,000 to full tuition plus a non-tuition award for program expenses. Based on the restricted size of these financial awards, we have the opportunity to assist a greater number of MBA candidates.
