Executive Integral Leadership

In this life-changing course, students learn to integrate the cognitive, emotional, interpersonal, physical, moral, and spiritual components of an effective leader through assessments, simulation, and cases. These small group activities enable participants to view themselves as leaders capable of fresh insights and equipped with practical tools.


Principles of Financial Accounting

Focuses on the accounting process, including alternative methods for measuring and reporting. Students review the construction and interpretation of financial statements and the various ways that managers and regulatory agencies use them.


Introduction to Statistical Analytics

Become acquainted with today’s widely used, key statistical techniques and their applications across many business disciplines. This course covers descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression, and statistical process control using business applications to illustrate these concepts.


Global Marketing

GLOBAL IMMERSION IN EUROPE

Designed to help students garner skills and knowledge of how capabilities can be built for a competitive advantage. After students develop an understanding of strategy and the analysis underlying it, they are then exposed to decision-making within the classic 4 P’s of marketing: product, place (distribution), promotion, and price.


Corporate Finance

Provides an overview of the role of a financial manager in a modern corporation and analyzes the types of investing and financing decisions typically made by that manager. The course establishes a valuation model which can be used to evaluate the risk/return tradeoffs inherent in the manager’s decisions.


Financial Statement Analysis

This course examines the principles of value creation with emphasis on interpretation of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow. Students learn the variables on which executives should focus, and how specific actions tend to affect those variables to create or destroy value. Emphasis on capital structure and capital markets.


Investments

Explore portfolio theory and capital asset pricing model. Focus on critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Leadership and Decision Making – Addresses leadership, power and influence, managing change, decision making, and teams. Focuses on identifying ways to become a more effective leader, team member, and applies theories of human behavior to solve day-to-day problems of organizational administration.


Operations & Supply Chain Management

Encompasses the systematic design, execution, and improvement of business processes, projects, and partner relationships. This course is designed to address key operations issues in manufacturing and service organizations.


Strategic Cost Management

Explore recent advances in cost accounting and highlight important inputs into the design of cost systems. Cases will cover a variety of decision-making settings and highlight the role of cost information. Emerging themes such as activity-based costing, target costing, and customer profitability analysis will be examined critically.


Equity Valuation

Provides a detailed understanding of the tools used by market professionals and corporate managers to analyze the value of companies and stocks using discounted cash flow, economic profit, and relative valuation techniques.


Automation and Artificial Intelligence in Marketing

The convergence of marketing and technology is rapidly reshaping how businesses operate and interact with customers. This course delves deeply into the new digital frontier, exploring the intersection of automation, artificial intelligence, and marketing. Leveraging real-world case studies, we’ll demystify machine learning, chatbots, recommendation engines, and more. You will come to understand both the capabilities and the ethical implications of AI in the world of marketing today.


Global Finance Practicum

GLOBAL IMMERSION IN ASIA

This application-based experiential learning class allows students to apply their knowledge in an international context. They will work with a company to solve real-world problems using the financial and business skills learned in the Global EMBA program. Taught in an international environment, students will encounter complexities such as economic development, foreign exchange, risk management, and global business problem-solving.


Business Law

Provides students an overview of the American legal system, focusing on several areas of substantive law particularly relevant to managers. Course includes employment and labor law, anti-trust law, contract law, corporate law, securities law, and consumer-protection law.


Foundations of Ethical Business Conduct

Explore the ethical dimensions of business, apply normative ethical theories, examine stakeholders’ relevance, simulate moral imagination, and analyze ethical leadership.


Data and Tech for Senior Leaders

It is the digital age and organizations are increasingly generating value with data and technology innovations in a variety of new and creative ways. In this class, we survey current trends in data and technology – such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and a host of other innovations – to provide working knowledge for executives, as well as to reflect on the major ethical issues associated with these trends.


Mergers and Acquisitions

This course provides a detailed understanding of the merger and acquisition process, both from the sell-side (using auctions or negotiated sale processes) and the buy-side (including a discussion of target approach strategies, due diligence, and valuation). Students will learn key aspects of deal structure, accounting and regulatory issues, as well as take-over defense strategies.


Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation

This course integrates the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship, social innovation, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in for-profit and non-profit entities. With a focus on real-world application, students will explore how to identify opportunities, create sustainable ventures, and drive social change while adhering to environmental, social, and governance standards.


Design Thinking and Innovation

Introduces tools and approaches helpful in the facilitation of change and innovation. Developed in conjunction with a national design firm, the course leads students through a project that develops a concise model for seeing an issue, developing knowledge and insights, and using that information to drive innovation.


Strategic Planning for Growth

Introduces concepts of strategy development, business integration, and problem solving. Examines frameworks to assist in identifying threats/opportunities, problem diagnosis, solution development, and recommendation implementation.


Negotiations

Introduces concepts of strategy development, business integration, and problem solving. Students are provided the foundation to assist in framing threats/opportunities, problem diagnosis, solution development, and recommendation implementation.


International Capstone Immersion

GLOBAL IMMERSION IN SOUTH AMERICA

Capstone course providing an opportunity to apply what has been learned in a global setting. This course connects the students with companies and organizations throughout the world, allowing them to customize their Executive MBA experience through project-based work in an international setting.


Corporate Governance

To prepare students for leading large organizations, this course focuses on key structures and processes for governing such organizations effectively. Topics include agency vs. stewardship perspectives on top executives, board of directors’ structure and roles, executive compensation, the market for corporate control through M&A, and unconventional/social governance arbiters.


EIL Applied Learning

Provides a forum for students to review quantitative and qualitative measures of their personal leadership transformation while at Notre Dame. Students participate on small team projects they conduct to demonstrate they are business people who are a force for good in the world.


Applied Consumer Science

This course will delve into the ‘art’ and ‘science’ of developing and deploying customer-centric marketing strategies. With an applied approach involving hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, this course will address contemporary marketing challenges, introduce economic and psychological theories that firms can use to solve those challenges, and equip senior leaders with actionable approaches and insights to drive immediate growth and profitability.
