Are workers in green jobs happier? Study offers clues

Do eco-friendly jobs make people happier? New research suggests productivity rises as much as 40% when workers feel they’re contributing to the greater good, even if they’re just shoveling manure.

“We’re finding that people who work for green companies have a pride-in-ownership mentality and are happier and more productive,” says Ante Glavas, assistant professor of management in the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. He’s leading a research project called “Business for the Greater Good.”
