When Erin Myers first heard about research that indicates disagreeable men earn more than others, she had one clear reaction: “I’m really glad I don’t work in a company like that.”
Instead, Myers works in a District-based branding and digital design company called Threespot where humanity, self-drive, creativity and a sense of humor are highly prized traits. As director of human resources, she screens potential hires for those characteristics as well as whether they “play well with others.” (Threespot has grown from 55 workers last year to 69 now.)
