Ten Years Hence: Futurists and industry leaders to present their visions of innovation

Ten Years Hence, an annual lecture series sponsored by the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, kicks off on January 24. The 2025 series will focus on the topic of “Innovation: The Process of Creation and Renewal.”

The talks, which take place on select Fridays through the spring semester from 10:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., feature senior leaders and experts on a wide range of issues, from regional health care to the power grid to enterprise innovation. The series aims to provide a sense of the challenges and opportunities for business and society leaders in the next decade.

The lectures are free and open to the public and will be held in Mendoza College of Business Room 122. Seating is limited. The schedule is as follows:

  • January 24: Sunny Elebua, senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Jeanne Jones, executive vice president and chief financial officer, the Exelon Corporation; “Powering the Future: Reimagining the Grid for Tomorrow.”
  • January 31: Matt Alverson, partner, IA Collaborative; “Collaborative Intelligence: Leading the Forefront of Enterprise Innovation.”
  • February 14:  John Schroeder, executive vice president, Marmon Holdings Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway Company); “A (Different) Innovation Journey.”
  • February 21: Elliott Parker, chief executive officer, and Matt Brady, chief innovation officer, High Alpha Innovation; “Resilience.”
  • February 28: Mike Bechtel, managing director and chief futurist, Deloitte Consulting LLP; “A Brief History of the Future.”
  • March 21: Phil Newbold, former chairman and chief executive officer, Beacon Health; “Innovation in Community Health.”
  • March 28: Scott May, vice president of chemistry in synthetic molecule design and development, Eli Lilly and Company; “Harnessing New Technologies for the Development of Future Medicines.”
  • April 11: Alex Slawsby, chief growth officer, InnoLead; “Why Well-Run Companies Will Continue to Fail.”
