Church’s Hires New President for U.S. Operations

Church’s Chicken announced that John F. Bowie joined the company as president of U.S. operations for the globally recognized quick-serve chicken chain. Bowie will be responsible for overseeing all company and franchise restaurants operations. He joins a team of veteran industry leaders who have been hired over the last year to support the brand’s growth and retail initiatives.
“John’s [quick-serve] experience, expertise, and solid track record for delivering results will be a catalyst in driving relentless satisfaction for our customers and franchisees,” says Mel Deane, CEO of Church’s Chicken. “We look forward to his future contributions in creating superior value for all of our stakeholders.”
Most recently, Bowie served since 2007 as senior vice president of restaurant operations at Friendly’s Ice Cream Corporation. He was responsible for the overall operations of more than 500 restaurants with a strategic focus on improving operational efficiency and improving quality, service, and cleanliness that delivered significant gains in customer satisfaction.
Prior to Friendly’s, Bowie was with Wendy’s International for 13 years where he held positions in marketing, international, and general management. In his position as divisional vice president of Mid-Atlantic, he was responsible for 700 company and franchise restaurants generating close to $1 billion in sales.
Bowie is a graduate of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he received his Master of Business Administration, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
