Co-founder of Keurig Coffee hoping to raise money for local hero

An extra cup of coffee or two might be a good idea in the morning, and if you decide to get that cup of coffee there’s a good chance you have a Notre Dame professor to thank for the extra caffeine.

Christopher Stevens is one of the co-founders of Keurig Coffee, the single-serving coffee brewing system.

He’s also a Notre Dame alum and recently sat down with WSBT 22’s Kristin Bien to talk about not only his success, but the importance of giving back.

Stevens teaches business classes at the university and  recently wrote a book about a friend and fellow Notre Dame grad who died of ALS.

He says no matter what you do in life, you should always strive for your dreams.

“You are going to have setbacks in life and I would say to anybody who wants to pursue their dream, be happy with what you have today while you pursue what you want tomorrow,” Stevens said. “You have got to take care of your family. You have got to have security. But if you can set aside the time and resources to build that dream. You can make it happen.”

Stevens says he is also hoping to raise money for a local hero.

Josh Comeau is a South Bend firefighter and father of five battling an aggressive form of brain cancer.
