‘Contrarian’ investor, CNBC commentator Cortes to talk at Notre Dame

Published: February 13, 2012 / Author: Carol Elliott

CNBC “Fast Money” commentator Steve Cortes will deliver a
talk about “contrarian investment strategy” at the University of Notre Dame’s
Mendoza College of Business at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15. The event, which is free and
open to the public, will take place in the College’s Jordan Auditorium.

Cortes is the author of “Against the Herd: Six Contrarian
Investment Strategies You Should Follow.” The book discusses why “going with
the flow” doesn’t work as an investment strategy, and provides six contrarian
views of major events that will shape the future for investors, such as the
fall of China’s economic power.

Cortes appears as a commentator on CNBC’s “Fast Money” and
during Fast Money’s “Halftime Report.” He is the founder of Veracruz, a
consulting firm providing market research to brokers and dealers, hedge funds,
and sovereign wealth funds.

His talk is sponsored by the Notre Dame MBA Entrepreneurship
Club.
