Notre Dame to ring NASDAQ closing bell

Fighting Irish football excitement will ring out at the NASDAQ MarketSite as the University of Notre Dame visits the financial exchange in Times Square on the eve of the first Notre Dame-Army football game at the new Yankee Stadium in New York.
Faculty, administrators, students and alumni, as well as the Notre Dame cheerleaders and leprechaun, will participate in the NASDAQ closing bell ceremony from 3:50 to 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 19).
Robert Bernhard, vice president for research, will ring the NASDAQ closing bell on behalf of the University. A live webcast of the NASDAQ Closing Bell will be available here.
The Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame is a partner of the NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation, which supports the Notre Dame Business Plan Competitions. The mission of the foundation is to promote learning about capital formation, financial markets and entrepreneurship through innovative educational programs. It was established in New York City in 1994 and is supported entirely by contributions from The NASDAQ OMX Group, the world’s largest exchange company.
Other Notre Dame participants include: The winning teams for the 2010 Notre Dame Business Plan Competitions; faculty and advisors to the Mendoza College of Business; and members of the Notre Dame Clubs of New York City, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, Central New Jersey and Fairfield County, along with other distinguished alumni.
