Tax assistance available at Notre Dame
Published: January 27, 2006 / Author: Mendoza College
As tax season looms around the corner, the Notre Dame Tax Assistance Program is preparing to offer the community help.
This year over 100 student volunteers, along with faculty and CPAs, will help residents complete their tax forms beginning Saturday, February 11th.
The service provided is free for those whose income is less than $35,000 a year.
According to Tom Bullock, an accounting professor at the Mendoza College of Business, the programming has been growing since it started, 34 years ago.
Bullock explains, “It has generally been well received because of not only the cost, but of the benefit that the people have of letting the students assist then and the students have a chance to get some practice on what they have been learning. It is a mutually beneficial win, win situation.”
