Top Army HR Officer to talk at Notre Dame

U.S. Army Major General Seamands will present a talk on “Leadership Principles: How to be Successful Every Day” at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business 6:15-7:30 p.m., April 19, in Mendoza’s Jordan Auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public.

Seamands commands the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), which is responsible for improving the career management potential of army soldiers — from basic training through retirement and beyond of 1.1 million members of the Army personnel.

He previously served at the Pentagon as director of Military Personnel Management since July 2012; and with HRC’s predecessor organization, U.S. Army Personnel Command, as chief of the Combat Service Support Team and Continental United States Distribution Team. He also previously served as assistant chief of staff, CJ-1, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, in Baghdad, Iraq.

Seamand’s awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and Army Staff Identification Badge.
