‘World at a crossroad’: UBS’ Suni Harford challenges Notre Dame business graduates

Suni Harford, president of UBS Asset Management, delivered the commencement address during the Mendoza College of Business’ graduate program diploma ceremony on May 14, 2022. Harford’s talk centered on the challenge to graduates to consider not the question of “Will I be Successful?” but rather, “What will my impact be?”

UBS Asset Management is one of the largest asset managers globally, with more than $1 trillion in invested assets and a presence in 23 markets. Harford also was recently appointed to the UBS Group Executive Board lead for Sustainability and Impact, where she is responsible for driving the firm’s sustainability agenda and efforts to deliver on its Net Zero commitments. She serves as chair for the UBS’ philanthropic arm the Optimus Foundation.

Among her many recognitions and achievements, Suni was named Investment Week’s ‘2020 International Investment Woman of the Year.’ She has been named one of American Banker’s Top 25 Women in Finance multiple times. She’s renowned for her tireless support of veterans and military families, her mentorship of women, and her commitment to the environment.
