The University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business rang the opening bell for Nasdaq on April 26, with Martijn Cremers, the Martin J. Gillen Dean, doing the honor of hitting the button.
The dean was accompanied to the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square by members of the Mendoza Business Advisory Council, the Notre Dame Institute for Global Investing, students and alumni.
In brief opening comments, Cremers remarked:
“As Pope Francis recently said, the “secret of education” is to speak in three languages: the head, the heart and the hands.
At Mendoza, this means that through our education and research, we contribute to the formation of ethical business leaders who integrate the mind and the heart, and have the competence to see and the courage to act.
We believe that business is a great force for good in the world if business is focused on the common good and serving others, including the most vulnerable among us.”
